Programme ratings are used for seeing which programmes are the most and least popular, also they show how many people are watching the show. The media producers use this information to see which programmes are doing well and which are not doing as well. The information is used to determine which shows can be re aired or cut from the channel after the finished series.
Programme ratings are also used by media producers also use this information to gain knowledge about certain audiences preferences and dislikes about the channels they watch, don't watch and what programmes are preferred to be watched on these channels also.
